A Sanctuary for Healing: The Acupuncture Medical Mission at Sonya’s Garden

Sonya’s Garden has long been a destination for those seeking tranquility, but from April 1 to 3, 2026, the sanctuary transformed into a hub for profound physical and spiritual restoration. In a significant collaboration with the Korea-Philippines Traditional Acupuncture Institute, the garden welcomed Dr. Chae Duk Won (채덕원) and a delegation from the Korean Acupuncture & Moxibustion Association for a three-day medical acupuncture mission.

A Time for Restoration

Timed perfectly with the observance of Holy Week, the mission invited the community to pause, heal, and restore. The event focused on reconnecting the mind and body through natural healing, led by a group of Certified Korean Acupuncturists dedicated to promoting mindful self-care and holistic wellness.

Operating daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the free clinics were situated within the lush, fragrant greenery of Sonya’s Secret Garden, providing a setting where nature and medicinal expertise could meet.

Community-Centered Care

The mission was designed with a deep commitment to the local community. To ensure the services reached those most in need, specific guidelines were followed:

  • Priority Access: Local community members, particularly Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), were given top priority for consultations and treatments.
  • Garden Guests: Clients of Sonya’s Secret Garden were also invited to experience the healing sessions by presenting their receipts at the designated area.

The Synergy of Nature and Wisdom

As the mission progressed through its second and third days, it became a “beacon of hope” for many. The collaboration served as a vital bridge between ancient medicinal wisdom and the immediate health needs of the public.

Every session reflected a belief that true recovery encompasses both the body and the spirit. Facilitated by expert hands in the heart of nature’s bounty, the mission proved that the most effective healing often occurs in environments designed for peace.ed and revitalized during this sacred time of year.

A Legacy of Care

The three-day event concluded as a testament to the power of traditional medical services. By offering these vital treatments for free, the Korea-Philippines Traditional Acupuncture Institute and Sonya’s Garden continued a legacy of care, leaving the community restored and revitalized during this sacred time of year.
